About IHRD
Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD) is an autonomous educational institution established by the Government of Kerala in 1987. The institute is registered under The Travancore – Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable societies registrations Act 12 of 1955. The management of the institute is vested with a Governing Body composed of with the Hon'ble Minister of Higher Education, Government of Kerala, as the Chairman and Chief Secretary to Government of Kerala as the Vice-Chairman.
Based on the principle, "Think Globally and Act Locally" it endeavours to bring about the welfare of the nation. It endeavours to provide education and training of consistently high stands through innovative and versatile programmes. IHRD has grown into a network of more than 87 associate educational institutions including Colleges of Engineering, Model Polytechnic Colleges, Colleges of Applied Science, and more. Director, IHRD is the head of this institution. The Head Quarters is located at Chakkai, Thiruvannathapuram.
Establishment
The College of Applied Science, Kundara was established in the year 2008 at Thettikkunnu in Kundara Taluk in Kollam Dist. Under the aegis of the Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD) a Govt. of Kerala institution.
Campus & Location
The college is situated in 3 acres of land allotted by the Govt. of Kerala in the limits of Kundara Grama Panchayath and Chittuala Block Panchayath and Kollam Dist. Panchayath. The college comes under the Kundara Assembly Constituency.
Facilities & Courses
The college features well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, recreation and canteen facilities. The Department of Computer Science and Dept. of Commerce together offer FIVE undergraduate FYUG Programmes. The College has an active Placement Cell headed by Placement Officer. The Final Year UG students are members of the Placement Cell along with HOD's and interested Alumni.
